The best therapy totally depends on your teens issues. If your teen struggles with social anxiety then CBT and ACT therapy are helpful. If your teen has high risk behaviors or has suicide ideation DBT therapy is appropriate. Teens with ADHD and Autism need skills training. If trauma is involved a trauma based counseling approach is best. This can involve mindfulness, distress tolerance, and role playing. Reparenting work helps with trauma as well. Substance support groups are an excellent way for your teen to get help. DBT skills training groups are seminars led by counselors to teach your teen life skills. ADHD support groups that meet out in the community and practice skills are a great resource as well. One day Intensives for parent training and collaboration are amazing!
